Psychological Counselling
Typical topics:
How can psychological counselling help me? When is psychological counselling helpful?
– Lack of self-love, low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence:
Do you feel inadequate and sometimes even worthless? Do you struggle to accept yourself and battle with self-doubt and self-criticism?
During counselling, you will learn to love and accept yourself. I will give you tools to help you treat and value yourself better and find self-love. We will work together on your self-doubts and look at where these negative thoughts come from, so that we can then transform them into more positive beliefs.
With exercises and various methods from psychology and coaching, you will build better self-esteem and self-confidence and strengthen your presence in your private and professional life. Strengthened self-esteem has a positive effect on all areas of your life, strengthening not only your self-love and relationship with yourself, but also your relationships with your friends, family and partner. High self-esteem is associated with increased well-being and mental health. People with low self-esteem, on the other hand, tend to be self-critical. They tend to see the causes of failures and mistakes primarily in themselves and thus experience themselves as worthless.
Rosenberg defines global self-esteem as a person’s positive or negative attitude towards themselves as a whole, i.e. a fundamental attitude towards their own person (self-concept). Specific self-esteem refers to individual aspects of one’s own person (e.g. my attitude towards how well I can ride a bicycle). Related everyday terms are self-assurance, self-respect, self-awareness and self-confidence.
– Making decisions
Every day, we make lots of decisions, most of them unconsciously. In everyday life, we don’t need any decision-making aids, we don’t have to make a list of pros and cons or a decision matrix first. However, some decisions in life are very important and we find it difficult to make the right choice. These include, for example, decisions between two jobs, between two men, decisions in a relationship or for or against having a child. In these cases, we don’t simply rely on our unconscious gut feeling. We want to do everything right and make a conscious decision, weighing up all the options carefully beforehand. However, this usually leads to a lot of pressure and stress. We demand of ourselves that we make the absolutely right decision. Some people then prefer to make a rational decision based on their head and create tables and a decision matrix, a decision tree or other decision-making aids. However, when you decide this way, you often end up with an uneasy feeling and start to doubt your decision. That’s when your heart comes in and has its say.
Others prefer to make decisions based on their feelings when faced with uncertainty. But what if stress and pressure prevent you from listening to your heart, and your gut feeling doesn’t work either?
I help you make better decisions that engage both your heart and your head. I use various techniques from hypnotherapy, body therapy and ego state therapy to support you in finding the right solution for you. Learn to make holistic and successful decisions in the future and to deal with the consequences as well.
– Build and improve relationships
Do you find it difficult to make or maintain friendships? Do you think you don’t come across well to others and are too shy? Have you gone through a break-up and are suffering from loneliness? Would you like to finally build good relationships with other people and overcome loneliness? Do you want to finally fall in love with the right partner and have happy relationships based on respect, trust and honesty? Do you have problems in your family and want to stop arguing all the time?
Are you in a relationship and want to improve it? Are there issues that make you feel insecure or doubtful about your relationship?
In psychological counselling, we look at your patterns and attachment style. The attachment style you developed in childhood also influences your current partnerships and romantic relationships. It is helpful to know your attachment style, as you can then consciously work on it and transform insecure attachment patterns into a secure attachment style through positive experiences. If you suffer from attachment anxiety, we will work specifically on your self-esteem so that you can show yourself as you are in your romantic relationship.
Break negative relationship patterns and learn how to have happy and fulfilling relationships.
– Overcoming jealousy
“Jealousy is a passion that eagerly seeks out what causes suffering.” Jealousy therefore means that you desperately want to find something that confirms your assumptions and fears. It leads to suffering and destroys relationships. Of course, there are also mild forms of jealousy that are completely normal and even healthy. However, if jealousy is excessive and stronger than the trust in the relationship, then you should definitely try to get rid of it and fight it. You can certainly find many tips on how to overcome and avoid jealousy, but it is not that easy. Normally, you know very well that jealousy is pointless, and you feel ashamed of it and often suffer from it yourself. As with other fears or addictions, you are aware that your fears are irrational and unfounded. Nevertheless, the suspicious thoughts won’t leave you alone. Most of the time, you are jealous for no reason. But there are also people who are jealous after a breach of trust in a relationship due to cheating or an affair.
In psychological counselling, I will help you find ways to deal with jealousy and combat it so that it no longer has a negative impact on your relationship. Together, we will look at where this jealousy comes from and how you can calm these fears. Learn to trust your partner and deal with insecurities. This is also possible if you have experienced a breach of trust in the past. Even then, you can learn to trust again.
– Combat dissatisfaction and gain zest for life
Are you dissatisfied with your life or your current situation? Do you want to change something about yourself or your environment? Are you lacking joy and fun, and finding it difficult to motivate yourself? In systemic solution-focused counselling, we work together to find out what you want to change and how you can regain your zest for life. I use methods from hypnotherapy, body therapy and various other psychological therapies. By working with your inner child and inner critic, you will regain control over your thoughts and feelings and understand what you really need. You will learn mindfulness exercises that will help you find peace and get to know yourself better. Meditation and mindfulness will help you to cope better with your feelings and thoughts.
– Broken heart and lovesickness
Has your heart been broken and are you suffering from severe heartbreak that just won’t go away? A broken heart hurts and needs to be mended. There is even a condition known as broken heart syndrome, as it is characterised by various physical and emotional symptoms. Unfortunately, there is no pill or simple remedy to heal a broken heart. It takes time and sufficient self-care to repair a broken heart.
In psychological counselling, you will overcome and process your heartbreak using hypnotherapeutic, solution-oriented and body-oriented methods. Working with your inner wounded child helps to give your feelings and injuries enough space and attention to then get rid of your heartbreak and heal your broken heart.
– Preparation and follow-up of experiences related to plant medicine such as ayahuasca, mushrooms, etc.
If you are interested in plant medicine and would like to discuss your experiences and questions related to ayahuasca, psilocybin, peyote, etc., I would be happy to advise you. I have extensive knowledge in the field of psycholytic therapy and valuable experience with shamanic medicinal plants.
– Advice on gut health, microbiome, SIBO, Hashimoto’s disease, nutrition and detoxification
Our immune system is located in the gut, and a healthy microbiome is essential for good mental health. Research now clearly shows a link between gut health and our mental state. For example, gut dysbiosis, parasites, worms, etc. can lead to depression and anxiety.
I also always recommend natural zeolite powder for effective detoxification and intestinal health. This product is certified, medically approved and tested. It contributes to effective detoxification, helps with leaky gut and even improves athletic performance. You can order it here: https://6770477.lvpartner.com/pure
Frequently asked questions – FAQs:
Who is psychological counselling suitable for?
In principle, psychological counselling is suitable for everyone. On the one hand, psychological counselling is of course very helpful if you have problems and feel dissatisfied. On the other hand, you can also benefit greatly if you are actually satisfied with your life but would like to develop yourself further and get to know and understand yourself better.
I would be happy to advise you on nutrition and gut health and help you stay fit and healthy.
How do I prepare for my first session?
If you have registered for psychological counselling or coaching with me, then you have already taken the first big step on your path to change and towards your goal. Be proud of this step and think about what is important to you in counselling. Don’t put pressure on yourself to already know exactly what your goal is. You may be dissatisfied with your life or a situation and want to change it. That’s enough. Together, we will then figure out exactly what you want to achieve and what your process might look like. I will help you find out what exactly makes you happy. This can often be something different than you think.
What is the procedure for psychological counselling?
It is important to me that you feel comfortable during the consultation. You determine the topic and the pace. I will ask you questions, listen to you and share my impressions and suggestions with you.
In the first consultation session, we will get to know each other and you can describe your problems and concerns to me. Together, we will then work out your goals and begin the process. In each session, I aim to provide my clients with helpful suggestions and exercises that they can then implement themselves at home.
You can always be open and honest; I am, of course, bound by confidentiality.
How many sessions will I require?
Every person is unique, and so is their counselling. Many of my clients appreciate closer support at the beginning. It is usually advisable to schedule the first counselling sessions on a weekly basis so that the process is given sufficient importance in your life. Depending on the topic and issue, a different number of sessions may be necessary for each person. You yourself know best what is good for you. The counselling is complete when you are satisfied with the result and have achieved your goal. This can be after 1 month, after 3 months or even after a year. Do not rush yourself and do not put yourself under pressure. Allow yourself the time you need. This is already the first step towards more self-love and self-care.
How much does psychological counselling cost?
Since it is not possible to resolve a problem that has accumulated over several years in a single counselling session, I offer counselling packages.
An initial introductory meeting costs 250 CHF. If you then decide to work with me, you can book either one month or three months.
Is psychological counselling covered by health insurance or supplementary insurance?
Psychological counselling is not covered by health insurance. In my experience, self-paying clients make faster progress and need fewer sessions than those who have their counselling paid for. Many of my clients find it difficult to treat themselves and spend money on themselves. Therefore, treating yourself to good counselling and investing money in your well-being and health is already a big step and a success in itself. It means you value yourself more, which in itself leads to an improvement in self-esteem.
Testimonials from my clients
A professional and friendly therapist. She has a good sense of what to do in difficult situations, whether that means pushing the client or simply letting them be. I had already had experience with various therapists, with moderate success, but above all without lasting results. With her contemporary methods, she not only helped me out of my crisis, but went far beyond that, because she also encouraged me to engage very actively with myself and to develop.
Ms Haag is a competent, professional and empathetic psychotherapist. I felt understood by Ms Haag; she provided me with excellent support and guidance. I can wholeheartedly recommend her.
I had a positive experience here and felt comfortable. The consultation was on equal terms and inspired me in the long term.
She was very friendly and likeable. I found it very easy to talk to her and she helped me to open up.
A highly competent professional. Ms Haag helped me overcome my crisis using state-of-the-art methods, explore life from a different perspective and regain my self-confidence. So I had to work on myself, which had an enormous and lasting impact on my personality, my strengths and my attitude towards life.
There are so many things I could say about Claudia. She has journeyed into depths that many would not dare to explore. Throughout her life, she has gathered a wealth of knowledge, which she uses in combination with her expertise in psychotherapy and analysis to compile what I believe to be a complete interpretation of the mind and to help others transform and heal. She is a gift to humanity, and I wish her all the best and every success.
It’s been a while since I went to see Ms Haag. Regardless, she understands her work and knows how to help people. I can only recommend making an appointment with Ms Haag.
Claudia Haag provided me with competent and professional support. Thanks to her empathetic manner, she helped me to reflect on myself in order to find solutions to a crisis. I particularly appreciated the outdoor conversations. I always felt understood by Claudia Haag and can highly recommend her.
Claudia is an excellent therapist. She guides me and gives me the right tools to develop and improve myself. I particularly appreciate her honesty and direct communication, both of which are necessary for successful therapy.
